Hi Reginald widening the loft hatch definitely wouldn't breach planning regs! If the roof is made up of trusses these must never be cut as the structural integrity would be lost, if it is a traditional cut roof it is just a case of cutting ceiling joists and trimming with new sections. It should be a fairly simple job. Advertise your job in carpenters. Ed
