Fitting a door

Posted by Jonathan Haselden, on
I am a diyer and have to adgree and many hours managed to fit internal doors bar one, where the door frame slops down. How do combat this? Do you just cut the door to match the slop and have a sloped door? Or do I need a professional Any help or advice greatfull.

Hi Jonathan there are 2 options: 1. Cut the door to fit the slope, easier but doesn't look so good especially with panel doors. 2. Level head of frame to see how much it is out, mark this amout on bottom of frame jamb(on the high side). Remove architrave from high side of door frame and cut off jamb as previously marked. Cut through fixings in jamb allowing it to come down to level position, re-fix jamb and architrave. Ed
