Fitted Wardrobes

Posted by Julie Shields, on
My carpenter has left very small gaps along the top and sides of my frames and said it is my painter’s job to fill the gaps with caulk. Should the carpenter do it?

It does depend on what was agreed and what was in the quote/price given, i would expect the carpenter to do this to provide a full professional finish to the job, you may not be having the room decorated for a while and dont want the gaps showing. Check what was agreed but i would say it should be done by the carpenter (i would have done it if i had fitted them).

Hi Julie It all depends what was agreed before hand, personally I don't do it as I class it as a decoraters job and I'm a carpenter.

What would you like to do now?
