I have a small terraced house in York. At some point in the past the ceiling on the landing has been lowered and the hatch into the roof space thats been put in is far too small to allow access. You can get your head through but not your shoulders. I want to be able to insulate the roof space but first I need to know if its possible to get the access made bigger. This may in fact be two jobs -the access through the lowered ceiling and then again through the original hatch.
