If the paint has cracked with quite straight lines, look very closely, it would be a preparation problem under the paint, like dust. If there is salt under the paint or it is comming off in a powder like patch, this would be damp.

One of my bathroom walls has bubbled and has paint flaking off, it looks awful there are no obvious leaks in the roof or outside wall. What could be causing it?
