I bought my house over three years ago. Since then a lot of damp has appeared on the external and internal downstairs walls. The walls appeared sound but I suspect they had been freshly plastered and painted to cover up existing dampt prior to sale. The house is over 100 years old. Who would it be best for me to contact to address this problem: a general builder; a specialist damp contractor...?
