We're currently in the process of buying a Victorian property in London and our full structural survey unveiled that it apparently has a basement which has been sealed off.
The current owner wasn't aware of this, no paperwork exists, so my question would be: is there a way to find out what's down there? I hope for treasures but it might be standing water or in the better case just rubble.
Does it require massive work to find and excavate the original basement entrance? Is there a CCTV solution which would just require drilling a hole in the floor?
