Problem with crumbling plaster in a property over 200 years old, not sure if this is damp or salt problem. The cellar has been filled in but various points in the house have plaster which appears flaky, powdery. There is no cavity wall but some stains where an old chimney was. Should I get someone in to strip the plaster and replace.
