High Humidity Kitchen Cupboard

Posted by Nainesh Mehta, on
Hi there, we have a kitchen cupboard on a outside facing wall, of which I assume is solid (non cavity) that has a very high humidity value of around 80% and an average internal temp of around 14º - 16º. We found that our pots and pans had mould on them and hence we have taken everything out of the cupboard. I installed a damp proof membrane and insulation board underneath the kitchen cupboard to see if that changes anything but it doesn't seem to have. There is no leak underneath the cupboard so the only thing I can really think is that there is a lack of ventilation. I drilled some holes in the back wall of the cupboard but that hasn't really helped either. Is it a good idea to install a airbrick on the wall behind the cupboard so that it allows some air to flow through it?
