I have a 1960s solid wall house which has been externally insulated. Unfortunately we still seem to have a damp problem on the lower part of one external wall which appears to get worse in wet weather. Outside the lower render below the orginal external render/insulation layer against the brick has crumbled. Could this be the cause, and why is the damp proof course not working? Any advice? I want to replaster my hall but not worth it until resolved!
