Hi Jayne depending where you live, and what type of paint suppliers around I live in London and have no problems with any finish I require, suggestion go for a satinwood exterior wood finish not gloss you can get it through Dulux, in an oil base or water base as it's exterior suggest oil base gives in more protection.
