Damage from Leak

The paint on the chimney breast and where it meets the ceiling has bubbled due to a leak how do i repair this or does it need replastering. Not very good at DIY so as easy as possible please??

Hi, Zinsar primer is good to seal the stain to the paint, however if the plaster is damaged try a product called easyfill it is really easy to work with and often saves patching in with plaster, rgds Tony.

Hi Linda, kraig is right, good advice polycell do a range of stainblock as well and should be available from b&q

firstly you need to find out if the leak has actually stopped if it feels wet cold damp you still may have a leak. if it has stopped then you ll need a stain killer sealer zinza bin/bullseye is a good one coat the area up with this then face fill it once dry if filling is required then rub down seal again then once dry coat with emulsion twice.
