Cornice paint stripping

Posted by James Donaldson, on
Hi, we have Victorian ornate cornice which has layers of paint on it and I've tried domestic "safe" paint stripper but the work is very slow. Would like a tradesman who could strip Away or similar trade type paint remover. Which category would this come under, and how would i find a specialist?

Hi This is generally done by a decorator and unfortunately it is a time staking job. I have my self applied paint stripper then covered it will cling film or sheets of polythene left it for about 6-8 hours or overnight. The paint generally falls off as you peel off the covering . Then a light rub down with wire wool. Hope this was useful. Regards Chris Beggs
