Hi Elizabeth, It's good to keep in mind that most of the new doors comes just primed/bare wood so you will need at least 2 coats to make it look good. If you are looking for a cheaper option - my suggestion is to repaint the old one. Hope this helps.
We have painted many kitchen doors with very good results, you would be surprised what can be done. plus it is a lot cheaper in the long run.
Is up to u, brand new 6 panels door cost about £20, still to paint plus cost of fitting. If door is good condition maybe is worth just painting
