Hi, You can use emulsion but it will chip very easily and you will have to start again. Do it properly, on bare wood give a primer coat first, then a undercoat and finally a top coat of satinwood/eggshell or gloss much more durable in the long term. Hope this helps

You can use it on wood but not door frames use oil based paint On woodwork lasts a lot longer
