Peeling paint

Posted by Ruth Campbell, on
I tried to paint walls with light coloured matt emulsion over dark coloured silk emulsion. The light coloured matt emulsion started to peel off within days. The peeling has occurred in patches all over the room. How can I correct this, please?

oops... Before painting over silk you should always provide a good key for the Matt emulsion usually by a good sanding or by use of an appropriate primer [more cost]. To deal with what you now have will require you to remove all of the new Matt emulsion back to the original silk and then follow my suggestions. it's not going to be a quick fix. Paul
