Hi Dianne, you have it in one! What you are planning to do sounds absolutely fine. I would wager that is exactly what you would also find on the paint label (be sure to check as they will almost certainly recommend their own primer to guarantee a perfect finish). Check to see whether you need 2 undercoats and one top coat or 1 undercoat and 2 on top (this should also be on the label) Also, Sikkens is a fine brand, you can't go wrong! Hope that helps.
