I have papered my hall with paintable paper and then applied a couple of strokes of different coloured paint from tester pots, over a couple of areas of about 12" square. Having chosen my preferred colour I have found that these two areas stand out from the rest, in as much as they are very glossy. I have used a silk finish paint. Someone suggested painting these areas with matt emulsion and then repainting but this has made it worse. Please can you advise. Thanks.
