Treating mould + related repair

Posted by Louise James, on
A flat that I have rented out has developed a problem with mould. The freeholder had failed to repair a leak in the roof successfully and quickly. I think it's now fixed. The flat has become badly affected by mould in the meantime. As well as having the areas repaired, the mould treated and the flat repainted, are there other things that will need doing? Would a painter/decorator be able to do the work? Two bedrooms, the bathroom and a landing/hallway are affected as far as I know. I have photos that were provided by a contractor that the letting agent sent in. That contractor is estimating the cost of treating, repairing redecorating as well as putting in a fan in the bathroom and air vents in the bedroom at £2000. Does this sound reasonable?
