Why did a second coat of tile paint leave a frosted finish?

Hi, we used Johnstone's Revive Tile paint in pale grey in our kitchen, which is mainly tiled floor to ceiling and the first coat left a lovely glossy finish. After 7 days we gave it another coat and now the finish looks completely different. Some of the tiles have a frosted finish and it looks more satin than gloss. It didn't say one coat only on the tin. Should we give it another coat or lightly sand the tiles? We did use a roller. One other thing I'm concerned about is that my partner shaked the tin rather than stirring it. Could this have made any difference even though the first coat came out okay? I'd really appreciate some advice. Thanks Jo
