Upvc window

Posted by Melvyn Jones, on
Hi, if the closest sized upvc window that I can obtain from a diy store is 30 mm short on the width and the window will be secured with screws along its longest side , can I attach thin timber posts to the brickwork to make up for the difference in size ?

Yes you can , would be no different to fitting window into a timber framed building and easier to screw into than masonry or you can buy a upc filler for either side which will blend into the window and save you the need to cover the wood , although would could be covered numerous ways , the easiest being a upvc trim .
