Hi Lauren. What I would do : 1remove beading arround glass and paint the beading same colour like a door. 2. Remove glass and clean from paint with Stanley or any cheap blade.. 3 put back glass and bead 4 put tape arround beading if you can go under the beading if not enough space then put the tape as close as you can to the wooden beading. 5.i would repaint the all door possible.. 6. After 48h with the new blade cut all along the tape next to beading then remove the tape gently. You should be satisfied with the effort and work and Finish now.. I hope I could helped.. Regards Cisco
HI Lauren if the glass is a sealed double glazed unit then the paint can't get between the two panes of glass, it could possibly have gone behind the glazing beads. If the door was pre-glazed by the manufacturer they are normally bedded in mastic to weather seal the door so something seems a miss! Ed
Hi Lauren. As a free lance site manager this is one of my pet hates! However as you said it is now to late to rectify totally. Door should be glossed and dry as well as beading prior to the final cuts. Right, you can either remove glass, clean up and re glaze as above. Or, you can find a red silicone online and run a micro bead round both sides of the glass. To be fair this looks alright. I have done this on Georgian windows that where blue, which needed painting out white. Hope this helps a little, if your still stuck give me a shout and I will do it for you.
