Re-fit a dishwasher

Posted by DON EACHELLS, on
I need to get my dishwasher re-fitted as it is not shutting correctly. It needs to be dropped slightly in its worktop cubicle ~ so that the rubber seal (which surrounds the inner door frame) does not obstruct the door from closing properly. It should 'click' when the door is shut and the machine set to function. It does not do so presently. Apparently, when the machine is turned on, the jets of water somehow penetrate the electrics within the door which results in a fuse. This is what the guarantee technician diagnosed. He was unable to correct this as it was a fitting/installation problem which was not his responsibility. I am unable to contact the person who fitted the dishwasher originally. Hope someone will be able to doctor this problem? Thanks

The dishwasher normally has a securing bracket at the top this sets the gap of the dishwasher. I had one of like this last year, the dishwasher had not been fitted level, and had a gap above the door, this meant that the door popped open when working. It took 12 months for this to show its self and the original fitter did not want to know. Removed and refitted using a baton at the top, making sure level, this sorted it out. Took 1/2 a day to do. If you post some pictures this will help.
