Yes, you can save money, defo. Like Gareth says it all about your skill level and the tools you have or may need to buy. The problems you come across may be a real pain to overcome without experience. Then put a value on your time after work and at weekends, might take you up to 25 nights plus time buying tools you need and materials you forgot, looking up you tube to see how to do something from someone giving dubious advice, on occasion. You will also have a warranty on the workmanship if any issues happen to occur after the install at the tradesperson expense and time and the knowledge that it is installed correctly with no leaks and all the correct fittings, isolation points, electrics etc in the places they should be with the right materials being used and using the right trade for each discipline i.e spark for electrics..... Not saying not to DIY, but be careful.
