Uneven floor = Wasted bank holiday!

Posted by Amy Byne, on
I have a Victoria terrace. Bought solid oak flooring for my front room and recommended thin foam underlay but just can't get it packed out and flat. Please help. What can I do/buy to avoid having to lay concrete?

Hi I always use a latex based self level compound on timber floors , it's flexible and contracts and expands with the floor without cracking , also before I pour this I brush on a 50/50 mix of diluted PVA glue , hope this helps Regards Craig Notts renovations

If it's not massively uneven then buy some fibre boards which are about 6 mm thick They are a better job,but like the other guys have said it might pay to buy self levelling compound but make sure your floor is dust free before you pour the leveller out on to floor or it will blow and crack, I hope this helps kind regards david
