Sticker damage on wooden table

A guest stuck some sticky material onto a table of mine, I'm not sure of the right word for it but it seems like it is painted to a wooden finish. The sticker took the paint off with it and now there's a mark on the table. I was wondering if there was any way to repair it? Some paint maybe? I can imagine how unlikely a solution will be but thought I would ask anyway. Would have been great if I could have uploaded a picture on here but it's a shame there's no feature to do that. Any help would be appreciated? Kind regards, Reuben.

It is a shame that it can't be seen , However sand it back to a smooth Finnish on the damaged area and then the rest of the table lightly sand to give it a key the you can repaint the table any colour you like it would be a rewarding job for your efforts. Good luck. Pete Ask a tradesman team
