Securing floating shelves

Posted by David Carrara, on
I want to hang a few floating shelves and some are heavy. Ranging from 8x2 to 9x4 and could span at 1.5m. I have made them in the past with 3x2 and just made a cover from 5x1 but I have alot of odd shaped timber and as my house is a old cottage I think it will look good. What is best to way of hanging them? I have never used it but was thinking of like a metal rod screwed into the wall secured with some of resin adhesive? Would that work? How would you do it if you where hanging them?

Sounds a good idea just use at least m10 or bigger and anything thing over a 2 m span I would use at least 3 rods to prevent sagging. Plus make sure rod is a good 100mm or more in wall.

What would you like to do now?
