Hardwiring a washing machine and fitting it

Posted by Caroline Burke, on
Have just had a washing machine delivered and the guy wouldn't fit it because it was missing one of the plastic handles on one of the pipes. .the switch on the wall is not a plug socket but looks like the machine will need to be hardwired into the wall there are two wires under the sink green and yellow one I presume for the cooker as well..any recommendations

Firstly green and yellow is an earth cable and maybe connected to your cold water pipe under the sink. Don’t touch that. Many appliances are wired into Canada nectars rather than standard 3 pin plugs. That isn’t unusual. Any competent plumber or electrician could likely sort the connections out for you.
