Hi Julie unfortunately there is no such thing as a standard stair bannister! There are many different stair designs so without knowing the actual layout of your staircase it would be impossible to give an accurate answer. Consider posting a job on here if you definitely want to have the work done, include some photos of the stairs to make it easier for trades to see what is required. Ed
