So sorry to bother you and this is, shall we say, a bit of an odd one, but I need a thingumy!
Due to becoming increasingly disabled I now need my blankets to be raised off my feet in bed.
Simple! Use a bed cage which I do, having managed to get a friend to cobble one together (they don’t make them for a 5ft bed).
Thing is, and this me just being awkward, I hate my bedroom looking like a hospital ward and wonder if it is possible to construct a device whereby a flat piece of…wood/metal construction could lie, resting on top of the mattress (with duvet on top) looking like a normal bed. Then, when needed, a thingumy could raise the flat piece simultaneously on both sides of the bed at the push of a button roughly 12inches.
I can imagine it, plan it, with telescopic arms, flat piece clips off for bed making, but haven’t the first clue as to how to go about constructing, sourcing, or building the all important thingumy. As you can see, I don’t even know what to call it!
Can anyone help? Am I just being too difficult? Should I just accept things as they have to be and get on with it? If anyone has any suggestions I would be so grateful and it may seem silly to you, but it would make such a difference to me.
