Fitting a wooden Baton to adequately support curtain Rail

What Trade would most likely be able to readily perform the above task.
Building is a traditional Aberdeen Granite Flatted property . Window width is 2m .
Looking to fit window with Curtains to fit 228cm wide x 228 cm drop. Double pull curtain rail. My concern is that the existing lathe and plaster wall would not be able to take strain of heavier curtains in the long term , Preference would be for wooden baton to be fixed into granite wall , and curtain rail attached thereafter.
