What can be causing my mains switch to trip ?

Posted by Tammy Tracey, on
When I use my washing machine, on spinning keeps tripping my mains fuse box. The full house goes not just the sockets. I've had my appliances checked and everything was fine, I've had my mains fuse box wires tightened last week so I'm not sure what's happening. I use a wheelchair so it's really quite worrying as if a fire starts I Might not be able to get out.

There might be an faulty RCD which need to be checked (it might be too sensitive on high variation of current). If the washing machine is plugged directly into a socket, you have to check all the sockets onto that particularly circuit (there might be a loose connection somewhere). In order to check that, plug an extension lead into one of the sockets upstairs and use your washing machine on spinning and see what happens.
