Electrics safety check

Posted by katrina whalley, on
What is involved in a safety check of a house's electrics? We are looking to buy a 3 bed property converted in 1930 with pretty old looking electrics and want to know what/ how electrics could be tested, ideally this Friday 25th April

Dear Katrina I would recomend to post a job on main website because some of a job needs to be seen before any advice is given. Our service is free of charge with no obligation quote and our tradesmans are happy to help with every aspects of jobs. When you post a job on Rated People home page then 3 companies will get in touch then you would be able to choose the right person as you would receive an e mail with a link to tradesman account where you would see a pictures and you will read revious from previous customers. I hope this will help Best regards Rafal

Hi, As Russell says, each circuit will be tested and visually inspected, for signs of cable deterioration continuity of earth conductors, correct disconnection times etc... A certificate will be issued, with test results, and any observations that need remedial work. The conclusion will either be "satisfactory" or "unsatisfactory". regards Andy

Basically the electrician will perform various tests on every circuit within the house as well as doing visual checks. This is quite an in depth process if done properly and should take around half a day to complete the inspection+testing before going back to download the results and produce you with a report. If you need this carrying out then post the job on the main section of the site and a electrician close to you should be in touch. If your in Lancashire you can fine me on facebook.I would be happy to help out Thanks
