Light switch panel in a shower cubicle

Posted by Laura B, on
I've just moved into a new flat and there is a light switch set into the tiles in the enclosed shower cubicle. Turned on, it allows hot water, switched off, the water is cold. I believe we have an immersion heater and was led to believe that the hot water came from there. I'm obviously nervous to use the shower and have only briefly turned it on and off to test it. Stupid question, but is there any way that this could be a switch for something that isn't going to end in an electric shock?! Thanks

Hi Laura, You shouldn't have a switch of any sorts within your shower cubicle. It sounds very dodgy indeed. I would get this checked by an electrician as soon as possible. If your in Lancashire find me on Facebook and I'll be happy to come and have a look for you, Russ
