Lighting in a garage

Posted by Martin Kerr, on
I have converted my garage into a gym and was looking to add additional lighting. I currently have 1 x single 5 foot fluorescent fitting. Is more fluorescent lighting recommended. I was concerned about flicker.

Hi Martin Personally I would go with LED tubes. I've just changed both mine in my garage to LED's. They are not cheap at about £30 for a 5ft tube but will last a lot longer and if you spend a lot of time in there they will soon pay for themselves Thanks Russ

Hi Martin, If the wiring has been completed properly the addition of one or even two additional lights would not cause any unnecessary drain on your electrics. If you however are concerned about flickering then it might be also worth considering investing in the new LED tubes which last longer, consume less electricity and are not so prone to flickering. Kind regards, Matt Elcert
