Hi Elena Is just the washing machine that does this? When you say short is it tripping the RCD switch? these are designed to detect earth leakage.Its quite common for washers,dryers,irons to trip these. If it is sounds like there is an issue with the washer and suggest you get an appliance engineer to look at this for you
