Part P qualified electricians?

Posted by Joanne Lee, on
To change a light fitting and fan in a bathroom do I need to use an electrician who is Part P qualified?

Darren Duke

Hi Jo, Part P qualified is a good sign that the person that you use has the correct qualifications to complete your job. But all that's really required is that the person that you choose to do this job has a minimum of either 16th or 17th edition electrical certification as a requirement. This means that they will be competent and understand the minimum code of practice for electrical repair works at a repair / product replacement level. Post the job under electrical repair and read the ratings of the person that applies to win the job, if they have good ratings and can show the minimum level of electrical certification then I would take a closer look at the trades person. I hope that this helps you in finding the correct person to carry out your work. Regards, Darren. Red Security.
