Hi Alex If its a oven that fits into a kitchen unit and the max load is 2.9kw then no you would be able to run via a 13amp plug as the total load is just over 12amps If its a free standing cooker,these are normally quite a lot more powerful and these will require their own dedicated circuit wired by 6mm cable to a cooker isolation switch Thanks
