Electrics before plastering?

Posted by Mike Beukes, on
We would like to install downlights in various rooms in the house. The ceilings are to be skimmed to remove artex. In our study we are having the ceiling replaced and walls plastered. In the study we would like to install new plug sockets and downlights. Do we need to have the electrician out before the plasterers & painters or would downlights & plug sockets be able to be installed with minimal mess and work?

Hi Bianca . Yes , you need electrician before do plastering . Electrician should install cables , make holes for sockets and etc . If you do electrics after plastering your plaster walls and ceilings will be cutted to make way for cables or holes for sockets . After that will be fill up by plaster or filler . It will be double job and double cost . regards Bogdan Banasiewicz easy find on web
