Hi Sian Yeah you may need to replace the 12v transfomer with a LED Driver.Some work ok with LED others dont As for the cost it would depend on how your current lights are wired and also do you want the lights to be dimmable. Some 12v lights are wired with an indivual transformer for each light,others have 3,4,5 off a bigger transformer. You would need to get someone to have a look but shouldnt be too exspensive Thanks Russ
