Hi Kathleen If there are no points on that wall then there should be no cables in that location. Cables to sockets should run directly up or down the wall although i have seen cables run behind skirting boards in the odd property in the past If your in any doubt whatsoever then isolate the socket circuit prior to drilling,just to be safer Hope this helps but without being there and seeing the job itself its hard to give advice Thanks Russ
