That's why, before replacing a fuse board with a consumer unit, you have to get an assessment done by a qualified electrician. Doing so you'll know the status of you electrical installation and where all the issues are. There are at least two possible causes that cause the fuse or RCD to trip: 1. there is a fault between the Line and the Earth which wasn't picked up by an old rewire-able fuse 2. there is a shared neutral between two different lighting circuits. Have fun !
