Hi Steve, I don't know how long is the ring you want to spur from and what's the voltage measured in the socket you want to spur it from. If you run a 2.5 mm2 cable from the board for 15 m the voltage drop is no more than 2% which is within limits but if you want to run it from an existing ring, it might go over the 5%. My suggestion is to either run a 4mm2 cable from the nearest socket to that spur or try to keep the new "spur" within the ring (meaning you have to run 2 cables to the spur and wire it as a ring).
