Hi Brian, Part P of the Building Regulation specifies that sockets need to be mounted at 450mm from the ground level to the bottom of the sockets. Regards,

Hi There is no actually minimum height. A plug has to be able to be plugged in without strain on the cable but obviously take into account its not placed too low where rain water may affect it in event of heavy downpour and flooding was to occur. A sensible height would be 450mm from ground level Also make sure it is protected by a RCD. and is either a IP65 socket or placed in a weather proof enclosure. If a new circuit is installed for this socket it will come under Part P Thanks
