The incoming cable to your master socket is probably damaged or the female plug of the socket itself got damaged. Check with the provider as my colleague advised you. Regards,

Hi Paul, Uplug any extensions you have in and try the phone into the Main master socket. If there is nothing here you could well have a fault on your line. Get BT to do a test on the line Thanks Russ
