Replacing 11W bulb

Posted by NadaV Rosen, on
I have to replace a light in my new flat, its a GU10. The fixture says "11 Watt Max". My question is can I repalce it with a GU10 bulb that says "5.3W LED spotlight bulbs" which has the EQUIVALENT of 40W. I'm worried about it being a fire risk?

Hi Nadav, Yes you can, The LED bulb that you want to put in, consumes 5.4W which is less than 11Watts. The LED bulb gives you the same brightness as an 40W incandescent (or halogen) bulb but only consumes 5.4W. Hope this helps,
