Switches, sockets and lighting (new build house)

Posted by Andrew Robinson, on
Hi, moving into a new build house in the next couple of months and was looking to replace all of the white plastic switches and sockets with better looking screw less nickel options. The quote from the builder as an 'extra' was eye watering, so am thinking it's better to get a professional in and change them all straight away when I move in. Ideally I'd also want an electrician who could install some light fittings too...(it's a 4 bed house)...so any idea of costs would be appreciated (is this the sort of job where it's better to request an electrician for a day or two, for example ?). Probably still be cheaper than the builders quote but I'd appreciate a comparison....
