New conservatory electrics

Posted by Mark White, on
Hi, we have had a new conservatory fitted on the back of our house. Is it right that the electrics are all being added to the existing kitchen ring main? Thanks

Hi There are various ways it can be wired. Your probably not going to use very much load in the Conservatry so the closest ring main can be simply extended to incorporate the sockets..You could run a new circuit in if you like but this will prob be more involved due to cabling having to be run back to the consumer unit. Lights can either be picked from the house light circuit or run off the sockets via a fused spur with a 3/5 amp fuse.Make sure the electrician gives you the correct certification for the works carried out. Hope this helps a little
