Lamp switch

Posted by Thomas Gravier, on
Hi, I would like to know wether it is important or not - regarding energy consumption- to have a bipolar switch for a lamp ? I'm eco friendly and would like to know if there's a difference.

Hi Thomas Im assuming you are talking about utilising a transistor to control your lighting, if so then its not a straight forward question to answer, are you utilising ac leds like the acriche led range, if so then to a small degree then they are better than just utilising resistors as they produce less heat and therefore less loss, but using acriche leds is an inefficient method of lighting in its own regard as they are less efficient than t5 lighting and far less efficient than normal leds which utilise bipolar transistors as part of the transformer makeup and are far more efficient In conventional lighting im not seeing how utilising additional components would make it more efficient If none of the above is applicable to your question please refine your question and ill address that Regards Tom
