Ceiling light

Posted by Kevin , on
My ceiling light has fallen down and from looking at it there are 2 wires inside a white insulated wire to the light bulb. The 2 wires fit into a plastic box with slots labelled N and L. There are cable ties on the white wire which look like they have been used to double up the wire to bring the bulb closer to the ceiling. Is this safe? I'm on a rented property and the landlord says it's my fault

Hi it sounds like your pendant has broken i would replace pendant. As pendants use clips to stop strains on the cable and to stop cables becoming disconnected or having short circuits which causes arking. So for safety i recommend to change light pendant. Hopefully this helps

It's hard to give an accurate answer without seeing it. Can you post a picture? If your unsure get an electrician to look at it. Shouldn't cost much and it'll give you price of mind that your tenant is safe Thanks
